Identifying and developing leadership potential
Educational landscapes are ever changing and as such we are required to develop successful succession planning strategies to identify and develop people to fill leadership positions in the future.
To meet this responsibility, we will:
National Professional Qualifications
Blue Sky will be supporting the delivery of a variety of National Professional Qualifications. We facilitate these through the Church of England Foundation for Educational Leadership (NPQs – Foundation For Educational Leadership (cefel.org.uk) ).
Catholic Senior Leadership
We co-ordinate and lead on both the ‘Moving Forward’ and ‘Moving On’ programmes. These support the National Professional Qualifications and provide an opportunity to reflect on current practice, leadership skills and wider landscapes . All routed in servant leadership.
Coventry Headteacher Induction (CHIP)
Blue Sky work with local providers to facilitate CHIP and CHIP 2 and the recently introduced CHIP Local. These are fantastic networking opportunities to link with headteachers at a similar experience stage. In addition to this, the local context of Coventry is considered with signposting to local support, deeper understanding of the role of a headteacher and potential opportunities to visit other exemplary settings.
Mentoring, Coaching and Shadowing
As well as formal structures of development, we appreciate the need for less formal support. We offer mentoring, wider coaching and shadowing opportunities. Due to the nature of these, dates, timings and approaches are developed on a bespoke, personalised basis. Where possible, these are incorporated and into or signposted during our other leadership offers.
